Exotic enough to confound without overpowering. Our favorite way to use Tahitian vanilla extract is in cookie dough, hence the name Cookie Vanilla. Like a secret ingredient that imparts an “I can’t have just one” sensation, this extract makes cookies vanish.  

Ken Cook, longtime president of Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream, searched for the highest quality vanilla and uncovered R.R. Lochhead’s 100-year family legacy in Paso Robles, California. Cook’s Vanilla represents our drive to produce the finest vanilla extracts. Only ten percent of the world’s vanilla beans are picked when perfectly mature. We harvest the fully vine-ripened beans and cure them ourselves to assure a delicate, intense, beautiful vanilla. Through our cold extraction, we have captured this exotic essence in a bottle.

We use more vanilla beans in our extract than most extracts you buy, providing added strength and richness. Additionally, we go directly to the source to find our vanilla beans. Therefore, we only use the absolute best vanilla for our extract. Tahitian vanilla is a different plant species from the Bourbon, with less natural vanillin and a distinctive floral and fruity taste that makes it a favorite of pastry chefs. Bold enough to match the strong flavors of pineapple, mango, and banana, this extract pairs beautifully with tropical fruits.

Cookie Pure Tahitian Vanilla Extract Ingredients:

Alcohol, water, and the finest select Tahitian and Bourbon vanilla beans.

Allergen and Dietary Information:

Certified Kosher, Certified Kosher, Gluten Free, Allergen Free, Vegan, and non-GMO.

Certified by Central California Kosher.

Recommended Usage:

In standard single batches, use 1 teaspoon to 1 tablespoon. As a condiment, use dropper to add 1-5 drops to taste. Finally, for wholesale applications, use 2 to 4 ounces per 5 gallons (40 pounds) of mix. Shelf life is 1095 days from manufacture. Manufacture date is listed as UDC. Although, much like a fine red wine, pure vanilla extract actually improves with age.  Store in a cool, dry, dark container away from sunlight.

Manufactured in California by Cook Flavoring Company. We source our alcohol from the United States of America. Cook’s imports vanilla beans from Madagascar and Papua New Guinea under strict scrutiny.

    The BEST vanilla ever. I’ve been using Cook’s vanillas for Over a decade. I love their Cookie Vanilla for baked goods, whipped cream, creme brûlée, homemade ice cream, etc. One can make a recipe good with regular vanilla but one can make a recipe out of this world delicious with Cook’s.

    This is the one and only vanilla. Others pale in comparison. The floral aroma is intoxicating. You want to dive into the bottle and not come up. I have developed a recipe for some ultra-chocolate treats and I used a different, inexpensive vanilla, thinking that the chocolate would overpower the vanilla. How wrong I was!! Even with an incredible depth of chocolate, the Cookie Vanilla shines through, giving a mellow roundness to them. I’ve learned my lesson: Cookie Vanilla or nothing!

    Once upon a time I stumbled on an article that concluded that all vanillas were the same. How wrong they were. I will grant that some vanillas are harsh, some more refined but there is none, NONE with a greater depth and dimension of vanilla flavor than Cookie Vanilla. It is this unusual depth of flavor that makes it my ONLY vanilla choice.     I have been using Cook’s vanilla, cookie and regular, for almost 20 years. I used to live just down from their admin office in Tacoma, WA and could get in the grocery stores there. I moved back home to MI and now I have to order it. It is far superior to any other vanilla extract I have tried. I tried others which I ordered and some that I bought in Williams Sonoma.     It’s the best vanilla extract for chocolate chip cookies. I’ve tried others, more expensive and labeled “gourmet,” but they didn’t come close to Cookie Pure Vanilla. In fact, I tried the highly rated Sonoma Syrup Vanilla Extract, which is also a Tahitian/Madagascar blend. It made my choc-chip cookies taste rancid. The blend was terrible for choc-chip cookies.
