Ken Cook, longtime president of Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream, searched for the highest quality vanilla and uncovered R.R. Lochhead’s 100-year family legacy in Paso Robles, California. Cook’s Vanilla represents our drive to produce the finest vanilla extracts. Only ten percent of the world’s vanilla beans are picked when perfectly mature. We harvest the fully vine-ripened beans and cure them ourselves to assure a delicate, intense, beautiful vanilla. Through our cold extraction, we have captured this exotic essence in a bottle.

We use more vanilla beans in our extract than most extracts you buy, providing added strength and richness. Additionally, we go directly to the source to find our vanilla beans. Therefore, we only use the absolute best vanilla for our extract. Tahitian vanilla is a different plant species from the Bourbon, with less natural vanillin and a distinctive floral and fruity taste that makes it a favorite of pastry chefs. Bold enough to match the strong flavors of pineapple, mango, and banana, this extract pairs beautifully with tropical fruits.

Double Strength Pure Tahitian Vanilla Extract Ingredients:

Alcohol, water, and the finest select Tahitian and Bourbon vanilla beans.

Recommended Usage:

This is a two-fold vanilla product. It has twice the amount of vanilla beans extracted per gallon than our standard vanilla extract. Formulate accordingly.

In standard single batches, use 1/2 teaspoon to 1 tablespoon. As a condiment, use dropper to add 1-2 drops to taste. Finally, for wholesale applications, use 1 to 2 ounces per 5 gallons (40 pounds) of mix. Shelf life is 1095 days from manufacture. Manufacture date is listed as UDC. Although, much like a fine red wine, pure vanilla extract actually improves with age.  Store in a cool, dry, dark container away from sunlight.

Manufactured in California by Cook Flavoring Company. We source our alcohol from the United States of America. Cook’s imports vanilla beans from Madagascar and Papua New Guinea under strict scrutiny.
